Really good day today.Got my hair cut,and I look human again.Stopped at a needlework store on the way home and bought a remnant of 25ct Ash Rose lugana for
needlecases, fobs etc, some more size 28 needles.I swear the cat steals mine.Plus I picked up an old Crossstitch sampler magazine and an OOP (I think)Prairie
Schooler from the pre loved box.

Happy Canada Day ! It's dull & dreary right now but no matter to me!! I have to work night shift tonight so no sunshine means I won't feel tooo
guilty having a nap later!
Marilyn, sounds like a good haul of goodies! And, I know, I might be crazy, but I rather enjoy ironing! Seriously! So after work, perhaps I can hop on the big bird in the sky & plant myself @ your place! Oh drats, I can't. I am desparate to get my hair done which will be Thurs afternoon. I am soooo overdue. My stylist has been away for a few weeks due to the passing of her father. Well, maybe another time then???!! Hope everyone else has more sunshine today than we do. Cheers Maureen |

Wow, Maureen and Marilyn you two sound busy! Happy Canada Day!
Rachel how did the Gator turn out? The food sounded interesting? Wendy and Andie how are the new babies? Lori did he get over pouting at you? LOL!!! Has anyone heard from Noreen lately? I wonder how she is doing?! It is hot and the sun is shing is here. But, the humidity is less than last week. I dread the upper 90's weather in July and August. Nothing new here. I am looking forward to stitching this weekend. Peace and quite for a 3 day weekend! Myrna |

Well it's beautiful out today too. It's really hard to get back to work after being off for so long! Ugh. DH had a hard time getting up too this
morning! I keep telling him "A couple of days and we have a long weekend!" I did finish my "L" this morning and posted her in the
WIPS/Finishes section. She turned out really great and was such a quick stitch! Now I get to add something ELSE to my rotation. What shall it be!?!
Baxter has finally gotten over being mad at me. He should too, he got me up after 1am to let him out again. The dog should know I love him if I give up sleep to let him out!! Changing dog food is really hard on some dogs. Murphy must have a stomach of iron because he's been fine, but Baxter is having some
troubles and probably will for a few days more.
Finally got all the laundry finished yesterday. They boys wanted to go to their friend's house and then they came back and the friend called and asked if both of them could spend the night. I called his mom and talked it over with her and she was fine with it. She had my two boys and another boy stay with her boy. I really admire her for having all of that at her house! Boys can get in trouble quicker when they're together! I got an email from Noreen submitting something for the gallery recently, but I haven't seen her on the board lately. I have to get her picture up and I think I have another to put up too...oh plus my two finishes. (finally...I can't believe I haven't had a finish all year and then bam, 2 in 30 days) I'm thinking those alphabet fairies must stitch up as quick as the holiday fairies or the pixies maybe! I'll wait to add something else to my stash though. My Blackstone Fantasy Garden is next up in the rotation, so I'm going to work on it for a bit. Though really I should do my Grateful Nation since it's a patriotic time of the year. Maybe I'll swap the two! Anyone doing fireworks this weekend? We always go to the Heritage festival and they shoot off fireworks over the lake there. It's our annual tradition and I'm glad that my DH will be here to enjoy it with us. When he was on the ADVON team, we thought he was going to be on his way overseas on his birthday but he found out they swapped him out so he'll be home for his 40th birthday too! When he told me he was going later, it wasn't "I'm so glad I get an extra couple of weeks with you guys" It was "I get to see the new Harry Potter movie!!!" If I'm not around much during this month, just keep in mind DH is deploying very soon and I am trying to spend as much time as possible with him before he goes! I will probably cut out my Saturdays to spend weekend with him when he's off. It's summertime so it's usually slower for me than winter anyway. Hope everyone is having a great week! Lori

The gator was wonderful! As it always is.
Got back home about 11:15 last night. Waited to leave until my dad had left for work. Predicted high today is 97. I'm not sure what all celebration stuff is around here this weekend, but I plan to look and find something for us to do. I also want to go see Ice Age 3 this weekend! Love those movies. I may have to go by myself though. Huston thinks "cartoons" are dumb. Poor thing, I'm trying to re-educate him. Also found out today that The Little Mermaid on Broadway is closing on August 30th. That kind of makes me mad. They could keep the show going a lot longer if they wanted to! It's an excellent show. However, they are putting it on national tour next year so I should be able to see it again. |

Afternoon everyone! Rather a lazy day for me since its Canada and I'm off and home alone! Maureen its a dull day here as well and they are talking about
thunder storms this afternoon. Sorry to hear you have to work on the holiday. As I write this I can hear the 21 gun salute going off in from of our
legislative buildings, which only a few blocks away. I'll be able to hear the fireworks this evening as well since they are set off over there as well. I
was thinking of walking over to see them but its just not the same without the girls so likely not. Nothing but stitching planned for today and tv watching.
I brought "Burn Notice" home from the library and started watching it, wasn't sure I would like it after the first episode but after watching two
more I'm quite liking it. The library has the 2nd season as well so might have to put a hold on it. I think Steve would like it as well. Anyone watch
it?
Marilyn sounds like you got some great stash. Where are you still finding SMF? I bought some last year shortly after they went out of business but haven't seen any to buy since then. It would be nice to pick up a few more colours. Myrna nothing like peace and quite and stitching! Lori I can understand not wanting to miss the new Harry Potter movie! Don't worry about us if you can't get here much over the next few weeks as we understand you wanting to spend time with DH before he goes. Let us know what you pick to start next now your done your "L". Rachel once you have kids you get to go to all the cartoons you want without anyone looking at you strange. Though a lot of people I work with who either don't have kids or have grown children still go to them. I've heard UP is really good, especially in 3D, will have to take the girls to it. Sounds like you have your work cut out with Huston, seems he needs to learn to relax! Sounds like he's one of these males who work is everything. I have full confidence in your ability to get him to see there is more to life then work! Teach that man to have some fun. CerysG

Good Morning
Things are going pretty well here, Aliyah is still a bit hard to get settled to sleep but otherwise is doing well. At the moment I am managing to b/f her and top up with a bottle when she needs it and just use the bottle at night time, I'm hoping to keep doing that for a wee while. I have been stitching a little each day, not much but enough to keep me sane
Welcome back Lori! Not sure if I have said it anywhere else, my brains quite foggy at the moment.... don't know how I did it when my older kids were little and so close together... I must be getting old lol Happy Anniversary Marilyn, sorry its late. Sounds like you had a lovely time. Have a great day everyone

I have no problems going to see cartoons all by myself! Went to see Finding Nemo with my sister, and we saw the first two Ice Age movies together. We also saw
Wall-E last summer. Haven't seen UP yet, but I'm hearing so many things about it I can't wait for the DVD. Since I have to choose between UP and
Ice Age, I pick Ice Age right now.

I didn't post yesterday, but skimmed them over real quick.
Marilyn, happy belated anniversary! Lori, I'm glad Baxter is done being angry with you. You always think your animals will always love you, but they can sure cop attitudes! My little Bichon sure did and yet I'd feel so guilty for the times I got after her. She's been gone for over a year now and I sure do miss her little beady button eyes. I'll have to check out your letter L. I bet it was nice to have time to do some catch up around the house with the boys away overnight. Amara is doing very well. Her little cheeks are pinchable now - she's chubbed up quite a bit. She usually only wakes up twice a night, but we've been going to bed around midnight. I wake up with her the first time, then Jeff gets up with her the second time. I don't know if I'm liking that because my breasts are soooo full when I wake up! I may end up getting up with her, but I'll give it a few more nights before making that decision. Jeff, Jeff's grandpa and Waylon went fishing Monday, but didn't catch anything. Waylon had his soccer game Monday night that we all went out for and yesterday we did some shopping and had lunch. Jeff took Waylon to his soccer practice last night and stopped by Baskin Robbins for Waylon to get an ice cream cone, I snoozed with Amara for about an hour of that time. I managed to stitch for about 15 minutes last night! I was sitting here rocking Amara on my chest and took another look at my floorstand and just pulled it over - I was able to do it! Slowly, but that way I didn't have to give up holding my little one. Today we had family portraits taken, the ones I had with Waylon holding Amara turned out so sweet. Cerys, "Up" is a great movie - although there were some pretty heavy adult issues in it - I was bawling! Waylon liked it a lot, when it came to the tender bedridden/death issues he said, "Awww, gramma and papa." Although there were other kids I heard saying, "Is she dying?? Did she die??" We didn't see it in 3D, I haven't ever seen a 3D movie, but I bet it's spectacular. I think either on Friday or Saturday we'll take Waylon to the new Ice Age.
